On this week’s episode of the Marketing Evangelist Network, host Justin Gray welcomes Katie Martell to the show. As the owner of her own consulting firm, Katie Martell On-Demand, it’d be easy to see Ms. Martell as “just another marketing consultant talking about marketing”, but within minutes, it’s obvious what makes Katie so different. An “unapologetic truth teller”, she holds up a mirror to marketing, specifically B2B and SaaS marketing, and asks the hard questions. In this interview, she shares the modern marketing insights she’s gathered.
In this episode, Justin and Katie discuss:
- How she started and grew a newsletter that people, not only enjoy, but rave about. Sign up and see for yourself here: https://tinyletter.com/katiemartell
- The role of CMOs (and marketers in general) in 2019
- How marketers can truly enable the sales process post-opportunity creation
- Why organizations need to commit as much budget and intentionality to thought development as product development
Our favorite quote from the episode:
Marketers are the drivers of change in the market. They must answer the question for their buyers, “Why change and why now?”
